Our Family

Our little family consists Me (Pam), Don and our two sons, Jaron (2) and Bryson (7 months). Right now we are living at the University of Utah Student apartments. Don has one more year before he completes his Exercise and Sports Science Degree. He then will go to Physical Therapy school. I am staying home with our two boys and will be starting my Resident Council duties in June. That is what we are up to now. A little background about our family:

Don was raised in Centerville, Utah which he still considers home. Right before high school they moved to Cedar City, Utah. During high school he was on the basketball team, chess team, and did a few plays. His defining characteristic is that he is tall!! 6'7" to be exact or 5'19" as he likes to put it. He served his mission in Cambodia. We are saving our pennies to go back sometime soon we hope. Don's hobbies include sports, sports, sports, & playing with his boys.

I was born in Lehi, Utah and lived there until I was 12 years old. I thought my life was over when we moved to the end of the world (or the other end of Utah county), Santaquin, Utah. It grew on me over the years, but Lehi will always be a special place for me. During my elementary years I was in the Spanish Immersion program and became fluent in Spanish. I am sad to say over the years most of it has left me. At the age of 12 I found a new love, dancing. I tried all kinds and continued through College. But have also lost a lot of that as life got crazy and I found a husband that doesn’t like dancing much. I have an Associates of Science from what used to be UVSC. I then went to SUU to become a science teacher. Shortly after I was married I decided I really didn’t want to continue in that degree and am still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up, I want too do so many things. Until I decide what school path to take I am staying home with my two boys and loving every minute. I love to do crafts, cook, be outside, read, and watch movies.

Our two worlds collided at SUU. A tall, very handsome boy was put in my FHE (family home evening) group. I happened to be the leader and had the opportunity to call him every week to invite him to FHE. Our time line for getting together was short. We met in Dec. '03, started dating in Mar. 04, and were married in the Manti temple on August 13, 2004. When something is right, it is right.

On February 23, 2006, Jaron Don Hughes was born. He quickly grew and was walking by 9 months. He loves to play sports (hmmm . . . I wonder why) and cars. He likes to sing and dance. He is the typical little boy in those ways. But something that I didn't expect from him was how sensitive he is. He is always concerned about those around him and always asks me, "You OK Mom?" He also is extremly bright. He already knows his ABC's, can count to 16, knows the basic colors, and can talk rather well. He is so much fun!

On October 02, 2007, Bryson Scott Hughes entered the family. He is so mellow and laid back. This family really could use someone with his personality. He loves to eat, and his size shows that. His smile is contagious, we just love our little cuddle bug.
