August 2016

This month started off with a baking day playgroup at our house.  We decorated cookies and make mini-pizzas.  It was fun this summer to do these activities every week with friends.  The last one we did was a PJ Party and watched a movie, no pictures of this one.

Next we were off to visit Grandma and Grandpa Barlow's.  Don and I were able to go the the Payson temple together.  This was a much needed thing.  It's always hard for me to leave a baby, when I am the only source of nutrition.  It should get easier to attend the temple now that he is older and eating less often and starting solids.
The boys have been visiting different family members all summer and this was the last sleep over of the summer.  This time it was Eldon and Landon's turn.  They did fun things like go to the movies and the parade.

While they were away  . . .

We watched the tour of Utah bike race.

And had a few cousins over for lunch.
While our neighbors/friends were away on vacation we took care of their dogs.  Bryson gained a few friends as he was the most diligent in caring for them.  When they returned we bought the boys WebKinz with the money they earned.

This month was Papa's birthday.  We had him over for a birthday dinner.
We turned out basement into our own version of Dart Side.
Bryson putting a worm on the hook.

Bryson earned his Wolf this month.
Jaron has been working hard too at scouting.

The Ute Fan Fest was really cool.  The kids got to go onto the field and got posters signed by several of the athletes. Jaron got to play ball with the basketball team, while the rest of us tried to dunk a baseball player in the dunk tank.

Kindergarten

He didn't even need me there.  He was so ready for this day.
It's going to be a great year!  All the boys have wonderful teachers that fit their personalities. But in addition to book knowledge we have started off strong in other areas as well.  The boys are doing great socially and although last year was really rough for Bryson he is off to a great start.  Quick story here.  The other day at recess there was an argument regarding something to do with a game that was being played. Bryson stood up for Eldon. Both he and Eldon were kicked out of the game for it.  I don't know what all happened and am not too concerned about it. But what makes this mother heart so happy is that Bryson took care of his brother. Eldon told me they were both crying over it but didn't seem upset at all when he told the story. I know it meant a lot to him to have his big brother by his side.

Let the soccer fun begin.  Jaron and Landon are playing soccer this year.  We participate in the AYSO league so they will play in both the fall and the spring.

August was a no Wii month. The boys did really well actually and I love how they found other things to fill their time. They played with friends, road bikes/scooters, played games in the yard, and played with action figures or Lego's most of the time.  Bay-blades and Nerf guns made a big comeback at our house. Many new games were invented.
Here are some pictures of what we were up to the rest of the month. I realize most are of Kayla, but following her around is what I do most of the day and as you will see from a few of the pictures bad things happen when i don't.
The swing.  Kayla loves to swing.
What a cute mess
Kayla only eats the middle of crackers.
Doing her own mak-up.
Doing her own make-up again.

What do you do when you color all over your arm with marker?
Cover it with white-out of course.
She did a great job at buttering her legs.
Spider man needed a diaper change.
She didn't forget the Desitin.

Landon and Kayla love to eat green beans fresh from the garden.
Today they decided that all the seeds needed to be removed before eating them.

July 2016

Picking apricots with Gram

Visiting the Aerospace Museum while cousin Jack was staying with us.

Landon graduated from Upstart.  He really disliked the program but we weathered the storm and completed the program.

Geocaching for FHE

Katie and her family came to visit, so of course we did as many fun things as time would allow while she was here.  We swam at Aunt Stacie's pool with cousin Jessica before the rest of the family came into town.

Aunt Cathy took everyone to Lagoon.  I stayed behind with the younger two because Patten just can't do the heat. The boys had so much fun.  They are talking about what they will do next time we go.

We also did a scavenger hunt in Salt Lake City.  It was really hot but we were happy to be with Gram and family.  Then out to do a dinner with everyone.

Also this month the boys did and RSL soccer camp.  The boys just love doing this.  They love getting to meet and RSL player and Leo the lion the most, but its a fun little thing to do.
For one of our playgroups this month we went on a hike.
Kayla likes to play with this Riddler car all the time.
Our friends the Murdock's came to visit us this month.  We had a great time!
