Bryson's 5th Birthday
Bryson Scott Hughes turned 5 on October 2nd. We were so excited that we were close to
family to celebrate the event with us.
On Sep. 30th we did a three person party at the Barlow/our
house. Carlie (18), Eldon (3), and
Bryson (5) were the people being celebrated.
I decorated cupcakes for each person.
Bryson wanted Toy Story cupcakes.
I failed to do exactly what he wanted, but this year mom’s best was just
going to have to be good enough. He had
a great party doing the games that he wanted and getting some wonderful
gifts. He has had lots of fun this week
playing with his new toys.
On his actual birthday Dad was able to get off in time that
we could to to McDonald’s for dinner and then miniature golf at Trafalga. We invited my side of the family to that and
were so happy to have a few of my siblings and their families come on such
short notice. Bryson had a great
birthday!
This little boy isn’t little anymore. He has really started to help me with a lot
of things. With Jaron off to school most
of the day he has taken the role as lead brother and doing a fabulous job. He is the first to do his chores in the
morning and very often doesn’t complain.
Bryson loves to play baseball, watch movies, and play computer. He has really taken to riding his scooter now
that there is a place he can ride it.
Bryson is so companionate. He is
the first to respond to an injury or hurt feelings. He is right there to solve anyone’s
problem. He is very brave although he
does not like to do dare devil type stuff.
He doesn’t cry when getting shots and lots of times holds the tears back
until he just can’t anymore. He is
developing his love for learning. He
really likes science which is fun for me.
He is continuing to grow big and strong and is my least picky eater. He
used to not like meat much but now that isn’t even a problem.
Eldon Turns 3

Eldon Theodore Hughes turned three years old on September 19th. I felt so sad that his birthday was the day
before we loaded the truck for the move to Utah.
Birthdays usually are filled with whatever food you want, birthday fun,
and a cake of your choice. Well he did
get the food he wanted, but the cake sadly didn’t get made this year. He wanted a pirate ship. He had to settle for a birthday ice cream
cone. But Eldon being the awesome kid he
is didn’t mind. He got pirate cupcakes
on Sep. 30th when we did the three person party. This was more than okay with him.
This little man is so unique. He loves to be held. He loves to dance. He loves pirates and dinosaurs. He loves to sing. I think it is so cute to hear him sing along
to all the familiar songs in the car. He
loves to read. He is so polite and
remembers to tell me thank you before the other boys. He has just recently started saying his
prayers and has offered up a few of his very own.
Just and few really unique things about Eldon, he sucks his
lower lip ALL THE TIME. He also touches
his eye ball a lot with the corner of his blanket.
He is taller than both Jaron and Bryson were at age
three. He is 3’4.5”, Bryson was 3’3.5”,
and Jaron was 3’2.5”. I am not sure how
much he weighs, but it is A LOT. He is a
solid rock. Eldon has started talking a
lot more and having preferences of his own just recently. I see him developing into his own little
man. We love all our boys and love watching
them change and grow. Don is 29 for 1
The big man of the house is 29 for 1 year. His day was filled with a work around the house and the evening was filled with fun and friends. We have started doing something fun for our birthdays and I really like this. We spend birthday money on an activity. This past year Don and I have picked up the tradition. We went miniature golfing. I planned a Cafe Rio night with some friends. This means I cook Cafe Rio food. The boys loved coloring pictures for dad, this year I didn't even suggest it they just did it on their own. The cake I made was black frosting with all 6 basic colors of white chocolate drizzled over it. I think it turned out good even if Don never took the chance to have any of it.
Personal note to Don ; ) ~ On your birthday I can't help but think of how glad I am that you choose to come to earth so you could be mine. I love you sexy man, thanks for staying strong through the bumpy road of life. I hope we have at least another 30 years together!
