What is up?

Our computer has been gone for two, maybe even three, weeks. A nice guy in the ward was fixing it for us on his down time. He gave us one to borrow so we could do e-mail and things, but I didn't want to download pictures onto his computer. Anyway it is back now.
Don and I are both loving our calling teaching the 12-13 year olds. It is giving us time to discuss basic concepts of the gospel together, which I love.
Don is still with FedEx working now just 30-40 hours a week. We have decided that it would be best for him to get certified to teach. He is going to do 80 hours of coursework and then take the tests the end of June. This is the soonest the tests are offered. He is really motivated to get this done and I think it will be best for our family. He loves working with kids and is good at teaching.
The family time has been wonderful and I love having him here to do things with and help me. Right now I am really enjoying being a stay at home mom. It is a really tough job, but I think there is nothing more important that raising strong priesthood holders. It is so nice to be able to be home all day without the world crowding in on my life.

Ward Campout

Our ward camp-out was mother's day weekend. We had a good time talking with friends, swimming, and playing games.
Both boys loved the water, a little too much in fact and mom even though not dressed to swim when swimming to get Jaron and Bryson. Maybe playing football in the water is not a good idea. Both boys jumped beyond where they could reach to grab the football.
All boys slept really well in the tent and liked going in and out of the tent. Pepper also did really well on the camping trip. The campsite was beautiful, shady, and surprisingly not too dirty.

School Graduation

Just for the record, I realize neither of them are graduating from anything. Don thinks that this is the most ridiculous thing ever. I just think it is cute and fun. The boys had such a good time at "school" if you even want to call it that. It was more just getting together and learning to love learning. We focused mostly on letters and their sound, adding in themes and numbers. But beyond that they learned turns, listening, and those sort of things. Jaron learned the pledge, which I will try to record and get on the blog.

Besides school I have been working on teaching the boys scripture stories, and the articles of faith. Here in Texas not many people know what our church teaches or believes. I want my boys to know what they believe and be able to tell others. We are perfecting Article of Faith #4 right now. Bryson also can recite them. We will see what I can do about getting those recorded too.

New Habit

Within the last month Bryson has started sucking his lip all the time. At first he only did it when he was asleep or to get himself to sleep but now he does it whenever he is just sitting and doing nothing.
He also is quit the chatterbox. Now that he can form sentences he talks nonstop to whoever will listen. He is not to great at carrying on conversations, he just talks about whatever he wants to whoever is looking at him.

Eldon 7 months

On April 19th my little baby was 7 months old. I forgot during the busy day to snag some pictures so we got a sleeping photo. They are so precious when they are asleep. He is rolling all over the place and getting himself back to the sitting up position. He is yelling and making lots of noise. He is entering that really active and interactive stage of life.

Tie Guys

For my birthday i got a sewing machine. So I decided my first sewing project would be these ties for Easter. It took a little longer than it should have and Don's was not really wide or long enough, but I had fun doing it (well most of the time). They all looked handsome wearing them the week after Easter to church.

Easter 2010

This Easter we felt so blessed. Amy Sandidge, a good friend in the ward, is always hosting get together. For Easter she did an Easter Egg Hunt on Sat. with a pot-luck breakfast.
Then on Sunday invited several families with no close relatives for dinner. My parents sent some really great Easter gifts to help us teach the gospel in our home even better. The boys love their new "scriptures." Grandma Grape sent some Easter treats along with Eldon's basket. Then the Easter Bunny brought some movies.

We died eggs on Sun. morning as a family.
Don even built my garden box that weekend too. Then with conference added in the mix it was really a wonderful couple of days! We are so blessed to have moved into such a wonderful ward.

Bath Time

In the last month Eldon has gained enough control to be able to sit up on his own in the bath. This creates a great photo opportunity!

Landen's Birthday

For Landen Sherrow's birthday we had a zoo day. The boys love playdates!
