BABAWAMAHUBA

What is that? In June my family held the first Kent Barlow Family Reunion. My dad came up with a really cool chant BA (BArlow-Brad Barlow family), BA (BArlow, Scott Barlow family), WA (WAde, Tricia Wade family), MA (MAlone, Stacey Malone family), HU (HUghes, Pam Hughes family), and BA (BArlow, Tyson Barlow family). This is all 6 of the Kent Barlow kids put all together.

Grandpa presented this chant in a fun way! Grandpa was dressed as an Aborigine and told the story of his people.
The second child from every family came up. Grandpa then explained the chant and that it means "We are One." Then all the grandkids came up and got their white mark. We all then stood around the fire and chanted together "BABAWAMAHUBA! WE ARE ONE!"
Everyone then got their shirts. They are purple because some of the family are Ute fans and some of them are BYU fans. When you mix blue and red you get purple.

Although Jaron has been practicing his ABC's for a long time and is able to sing them he would not preform any of the songs he knows for the family talent show. Don sang songs with all the kids while we waited for everyone to get ready, so that is good enough I guess.
The pictures above show some of the other talent acts that were a hit. My Grandma Barlow (Grandma Grape) made books that had all the songs from her childhood and the ones she sang to her children as well. She sang some of these songs too, it was a really neat thing and will be cherished for years to come.
Aunt Tricia did a lot of fun crafts for the kids. We did hats, arrowhead necklaces (Jaron loves to wear his), picture frames, pinwheels.

I played my first organized game of baseball. Jaron did some practicing in the garage with his cousins.

We also played in the pond just behind the cabin/house. Jaron has overcome his fear of water and had a great time playing in the water with Dad. I on the other hand was a little grossed out by the duck poop, moss, and floating spiders. But that was just me.

The reunion was a success and we all had lots of fun being together. The only person we were missing was Camille (Brad & Kalynne's oldest). While I was typing this up Jaron saw the pictures and said he wanted BABAWABA that is his version of the chant. He then added he wanted his Grandpa and to go back to the cabin. He has a close relationship with both sets of grandparents and misses them all the time. We look forward to the next one in two year!

Pammy-K: I loved reading your "Tabs" and finding out a little more about you. Jaron's premiere video performance of "ABCs" is great. The pictures of the reunion and your comments about that were good. BABAWAMAHUBA! Have a great day. Mom
